Little Hawk, Čhetán Čík’ala (1836-1900) was a Oglala Lakota war chief. His nephew was the notorious Crazy Horse. Little Hawk and Crazy Horse fought together in many battles, most notable of which was The Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876.
Little Hawk was fiercely committed to preserving his people’s culture and land. He resisted when Chief Sitting Bull agreed to exile in Canada, choosing instead to fight U.S. Troops.
Little Hawk died on the Pine Ridge Reservation in 1900.
